The rules below are directly from the 2011 WKA technical manual and are the rules that 61 Kartway will govern by. We will follow the Gold Cup Series, Box Stock rules, with a few exceptions. Any items in bold red are local option rules that vary from the original rules. These local option rules are only for the class at 61 Kartway - if you travel to a different track, they may be different. If you have any questions in regards to the following rules feel free to contact us or Tyler Schurr( 309-781-9007).
The tire rule for the clone class at 61 Kartway is as follows: "Open tire rule, as long as the tire is used." You cannot show up on the grid with a new set of tires. Even if they only have 5 laps on them, they have to be "used".
The fuel at 61 Kartway should be obtained from the Welton Truck Stop just 1.5 miles south of the race track on Highway 61. We will use an 87 octane fuel, and the fuel tester will be zeroed off of this particular fuel each race day.
Junior 1 Clone and Junior 11 Clone will be run together as one class, but scored separately, until there are 3 or more drivers in each class.

Description: These are 6.5 horsepower "Clone"engines only. All parts must be factory production parts unless otherwise specified in the the 2011 Tech Manual. No machining or alteration of parts is permitted unless specifically noted!! All parts are subject to be compared to known stock parts. No reading between the lines. If it is not in the rules, it must remain, STOCK. UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED ENGINE WILL BE TECHED AS RACED. Additional rules may be added as WKA moves forward with this program.
Claimer Rule: You must finish the race in a Clone class to purchase the winners engine for $300.00 (minus the clutch/chain guard/throttle kit, header pipe/muffler, air filter adaptor/air filter, top plate & fuel pump). Refusing to accept the claimer will result in immediate disqualification of competitor along with forfeiture of any points earned to date in class.
CLUTCH : Must be a shoe type clutch. Any stamped drum clutch allowed. No disc clutches will be allowed.
FUEL TANK : Must be floor mounted.
CARBURETOR : Huayi OR Rui*ing only. All stock carb gaskets must be present. Choke assembly must be functioning, cannot be altered, and remain flat. Choke bore must be cast. Venturi: 0.615" No-Go. Back carb bore: 0.751" No-Go. Emulsion tube must remain stock. 0.066" No-Go (No-Go cannot pas all of the way through.). Main jet : 0.042" No-Go. Low speed idle jet 0.019' No-Go. Throttle Shaft 0.115 minimum. Butterfly 0.037" minimum. Butterfly screw must remain stock.
FUEL PUMP : Any pulse type fuel pump is allowed. Fuel pump must be pulsed from the valve cover. *Any other way to pulse must be approved by the WKA Tech Official for the race weekend
AIR FILTER : After market air filter adapters are allowed. Maximum length: 1.375". Loss of air filter during the race does not constitute a reason for disqualification.
BLOCK : Block must remain stock. Maximum bore is 2.685". Stroke is 2.123" plus 0.010" or minus 0.005". No pop-up allowed. Mating surfaces of block and cylinder head are non-tech items. Surfacing of both to correct for gasket failure and meet cc check is allowed. No welding on block.
CYLINDER HEAD : No porting, grinding or modification. Valve seats have two angles: single 45 degrees valve face and single 30 degrees top. Intake seat 0.897" maximum. Exhaust seat 0.862 maximum. Head gasket must be stock configuration. Gasket must be steel; copper or aluminum not allowed. Minimum head gasket thickness 0.008". One or two head gaskets are allowed.
COMBUSTION CHAMBER VOLUME: Minimum volume 26.5 cc as measured through the spark plug hole using the LAD tool and with head on the engine.
VALVE TRAIN : Valve train will remain stock. No polishing. No grinding. No alterations. Stock OEM rocker arms only. Stock valve springs only. Maximum wire diameter is .071". Maximum spring spring pressure is 10.8 lbs. at height of 0.850". Spring retainer measurements - exhaust 0.260" + or - 0.005"; intake 0.240" + or - 0.005". Intake valve diameter - 0.985" + or - 0.005" with 45 degree angle. Lash cap on exhaust valve only. Valve stem seal is optional on intake only. Seal lip - 0.027" maximum. Stock lifters.
ROD : Stock rod only; no modifications.
PISTON AND RINGS : Stock pistons and rings only.
CRANKSHAFT : Stock crankshaft only; no modifications. Crankshaft journal is 1.180" maximum and 1.168 minimum.
CAMSHAFT : Camshaft must meet these specifications. Maximum running lift on exhaust is 0.242" taken on valve spring retainer with zero lash. Maximum running lift on intake 0.238" taken on valve spring retainer with zero lash. Intake lift at the push rod - maximum 0.225", minimum 0.215". Exhaust lift at the rod - maximum 0.232, minimum 0.222". Duration check for intake and exhaust lobes. Intake duration of 218.5 degrees at 0.050" lift/85.5 degrees at 0.200" lift. Exhaust duration of 221.5 degrees at 0.050' lift/96.5 degrees at 0.200" lift. (All checks will allow +2 degrees for wear and gauge variances.) We will also allow a CL-1 Cam.
FLYWHEEL AND IGNITION : An ARC Billet Flywheel (PN:6619) is required in all clone classes. All racers must use the stock unaltered ignition key. The minimum width of the key is 0.156". The stock key way rule allows the racer to install the Billet flywheel without the need to check the timing to verify that they are legal. The static ignition timing of the ARC flywheel is 24 degrees BTDC (Before Top Dead Center). Because there may be variances in manufacturing tolerances, there is the possibility that the timing may deviate slightly. For the reason, a maximum ignition timing of 25 degrees BTDC will be allowed. The timing will be measured by using either a degree wheel, timing light or "in the hole measurement." Again the intent here is that the racer should not be concerned about the legality of their ignition timing if they install the flywheel themselves and do not have the tools to measure the riming themselves.
HEADER PIPE : Any header, commercially available with the maximum length of 22". NO LOOP PIPES. Header should not extend past the rear bumper.
MUFFLER : Must be standard RLV B91XL muffler.
STARTER : Pull starter must be present and remain stock. Pull starter may be rotated for a better cranking angle.
ENGINE OIL RECOVERY SYSTEM : Engine oil recovery system ( catch can ) mandatory.
OIL SENSOR : Oil sensor may be removed.
GOVERNOR : Governor and governor components are non-tech.
SIDE COVER GASKETS : 2 gaskets maximum.
