Our goal at 61 Kartway is to provide an oppotrunity for individuals to take part in a competitive, yet fun and affordable form of motorsports. The fun and affordable part is easy, but sometimes being competitive is a bit more work. So here at 61 Kartway, we have the Driver Development Series (DDS). Our concept is to get new drivers up to speed quickly, without having to suffer some of the typical "I wish I had known that...." instances that are common to this sport. The Novice classes are for individuals interested in getting involved in the sport, but wanting to take that extra bit of time to learn before investing. The Beginner classes are designed for the new drivers to the sport with their equipment, and taking monhts of trial and error and compressing into a few hours of highly informative training. The Experienced classes are designed for individuals that have been driving for a year or less, but want to get some very real, in depth, and highly customized training, both on the track and in the pits. Classes must be arranged a minimum of one week in advance!

Novice Classes ($150.00):

Stage 1: (2) 10 minute sessions in 6.5 hp training karts

Class: 1 hour class > driving lines, braking, passing, on track concepts

Stage 2: (2) 10 minutes sessions in 6.5 hp training karts ("Chase Mode" with instructor on track)

Beginner Classes:

Attendee will provide own equipment (chassis, engine, clutch, tires, etc.). Class length varies from 1-2 hours.

Chassis Concepts ($150.00): Explanation of effects chassis changes have: front & rear width, tire pressure, caster/camber, seat positioning, axles & hubs, ackerman, tire wear, etc. Includes on track experience with changes made to attendees equipment. Includes finding good base setup for 61 Kartway for kart before departing for the day.

Driving Concepts ($125.00): Explanation of driving lines as pertaining to karting in general, and 61 Kartway in particular. Includes "chase" mode with instructor(s). Find the fast way around the track!

Clutch Repair and Maintenance: ($75.00): Full tear down of Walbro clutch (for the KT100 and HPV), including disc inspection, spring adjustment concepts, and basic maintenance of the clutch. Understand the importance of a well maintained clutch!

Experienced Classes:

Customized classes based on your chassis and engine. For the KT100, the HPV, and the Rotax engines. Class is structured around your goals, needs, and desires. Call for details. Starting at $300.00.
