Points Races
There will be 14 races in the points championship in 2008. WKA rules (race procedure and tech inspection) will be followed in all points races, with very few exceptions (see below). You do NOT have to be a WKA or 61 Kartway Club member to race or receive awards. All top finishing drivers will be required to pass tech inspection. Any driver breaking a track record will require a complete (on site) inspection of their kart to verify the record. A Midseason championship race will be held, with trophies awarded. There will also be a season ending championship race with awards as well.
Rules Procedure:

All rules will be taken from the 2008 WKA technical manual. Tech inspection may be general on one weekend, and more detailed on another. Please be prepared to run fair and within the rules. Helmets must be Snell 2000 or above (Snell 1999 expired Dec 25, 2007, and is now considered illegal). Exceptions to the WKA rules are as follows:
TaG Weights: Click here for more info
Tires: All classes, including TaG, are required to run Bridgestone YHC's. Kid Karts are open tire rule, shifters require YJB's (stock and ICC)
Rain Rule: Rain races will be "called" by NOON on race days. Registered drivers will be awarded 180 points. Trackside or Online Registration must be received by 4PM on race day to receive rain points. Entry fees are non refundable and non transferable. Pit passes do NOT have to be purchased to be awarded your points in event of a rain out. You may register online from home to avoid a trip to the track on an obvious rain out day.
Points: There will be TWO drops allowed during the course of the season. Only one "zero" point drop will be allowed. Your second drop will be your lowest finish of any race you competed in. A driver MUST compete in 7 or more points races to be eligible for year end awards. ***You CAN enter a race online even if you are not attending (ie: attending a ManCup race rather than a club race, etc). If by chance the club race is rained out that weekend, you will receive your points. If the races are run as scheduled, you will NOT receive your points (you will receive a "0"), and your entry fee is non refundable and non transferable.*** To receive points, a driver MUST take the green flag AND weigh in during the Feature.

Central States Super Series: (June 28-29) The CSSS will be returning to 61 Kartway this year as well. A great group to run with, with growing numbers in their classes, they provide excellent competition along with a group prepared to have a good time! Excellent TaG and Shifter competition. For more information, visitthecsss.com.
Points Race #9 - Reverse Course and Hog Roast: (July 19) One of the big favorites at 61, and sure to fill you up. We run the course backwards (quite the challenge for anyone used to turning their steering wheel to the left) and then supply a 250+ lb hog and a TON of food and beverages. Plan on staying the night - it's a great time with a challenging test for drivers, followed by lots of laughs and food.
Central States Super Series: (Aug 8-10) The CSSS returns to 61 Kartway for a second go around in 2008. Excellent TaG and Shifter competition. Check out the action, which may include flying karts! For more information, visit thecsss.com.
Vintage Kart Races: (Oct 3-4) The 5th Annual Midwest Vintage Kart Races will return for their third year at 61 Kartway. One of our favorite weekends, where karting returns to it's original form: lean hard to the side, turn the wheel, and use your toes for front bumpers. Incredibly knowledgeable folks, great fun, and amazing to watch. Be sure to join us for this event!
