The Specifics

Individuals under 18 years of age will require a parents consent form to be signed.

All drivers MUST purchase a pit pass each day they are at the track. A pit pass is required to enter the hot pits and drive a kart. That charge is not included in the practice or race cost.

61 Kartway will provide helmets and neck braces, but we suggest that all drivers bring long pants and a long sleeve shirt for the standard rentals. Sandals are NOT allowed while racing. Individuals wishing to bring their own helmet are welcome to do so, but the helmet must include eye protection (full face, or goggles).

All drivers MUST sign our damage waiver. This form makes the driver physically and financially responsible for the kart while they are using it. These karts are not the karts you see at an amusement park or entertainment venue. These karts have top speeds of 45 MPH. The karts are NOT bumper cars - intentional bumping, crashing, or abuse will not be tolerated, and drivers doing so will be black flagged or asked to leave. Any driver who takes the kart off the track (into grass or over curbing) will be black flagged and brought off the track. Drivers ARE responsible for the cost of damage to any karts. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!!

NO ALCOHOL is permitted on the premises during rental kart hours. Management reserves the right to refuse access to the track for ANY person that appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs

The Pit Pass

Required for any individual who wishes to entire the hot pits or the track (even if you are not the driver!). A Pit Pass is $10.00 and is good for the entire day while we are open. A Pit Pass is required for any of the rentals listed below.

The Standard Rentals

To make this opportunity possible, 61 Kartway has 15 high quality, Birel racing karts available for the general public. Training before trying one of these karts is not necessary as they are incredible simple to understand and drive. Simply sign our standard waiver, hop in a kart, and put your skills to the test on our track. Upon purchasing your Pit Pass (which is valid for the entire day during the hours we are open), you may then purchase track time in 10 minute increments, at a cost of $15.00 dollars per session plus tax. This does not include your pit pass. Your lap times may be purchased after your session at a cost of $1.00

Group Rates:

Pit Pass > $10.00

Pre-scheduled Group Session (8+ drivers) > $10.00(+ tax) per ticket

Note: Group Outings are available during different days and hours than standard rental operations. Please contact us to make arrangements to schedule your group.

How a group session works: To be considered a group session, the group or outing MUST be scheduled at least 1 day prior to the arrival of the group. Once the group arrives, a ticket system is used. Each individual in the group fills out our waiver and pit pass forms. They receive their pit pass and a ticket, and proceed to the karts for their session. As each individual wishes to do another session, they head back and receive another ticket. These tickets are collected and upon the group finishing, are tallied for a total cost (pit passes + total number of tickets) to be charged to the group. If a group wishes to spend a certain $$ amount, we will cease handing out tickets once that amount has been reached, unless the individuals wish to continue purchasing tickets on their own (at the discounted group rate of $10.00 + tax). For group sessions, the 6.5hp rentals are the karts available.

The Cadet Rental

61 Kartway has a cadet (smaller than adult size chassis) with a 4.0 hp motor available for drivers under the age of 15 to rent. Only one driver is allowed on the track during this session with the parents having access to the track for viewing (only two individuals allowed on the track for viewing while the driver is out). This setup is designed to introduce the sport to younger drivers, and help parents make a decision as to moving forward in the sport of racing. Long pants, tennis shoes, long sleeves, and gloves are required for the Cadet sessions.

NOTE: Any damage to the Cadet kart (chassis, bodywork, engine, tires, etc.) during use will be the immediate responsibilty of the parents or gaurdian of the driver. Payment for damaged items will be made at the track office before leaving the premises.
