Classes

We will follow the rules from the 2025 WKA Tech Manual.

Any items with * are local option rules that vary from the 2025 WKA Tech Manual.

Points races

There will be 12 races in the points championship in 2025. Cup Karts rules for all 206 classes will be followed and WKA rules will be followed for the Kid Kart class, with very few exceptions. You do NOT have to be a 61 Kartway Club member to race, earn points or receive awards. Awards are given back to 5th place and drivers must race 8 or more races to receive an award. Drivers are allowed 2 drops.

Kid Kart - Comer

• Age: 5-7 years
• Engine: Comer C51
• Fuel: 87 octane ethanol* 
• Minimum Weight: 150lbs.
• Tires: Hoosier R60B Size 10x4:50 or 4:60x5,  max rear circumference, 33.75".
• Gear Ratio: 10/89

Any items in bold red or a * are local option rules that vary from the original rules. These local option rules are only for the classes at 61 Kartway - if you travel to a different track they may be different.  Please know that we will enforce any tech updates. Kid Kart - LO206

• Age: 5-7 years old 
• Engine: Briggs & Stratton LO 206 Kid Kart Engine. 
• Fuel: 87 octane
• Minimum Weight: 200lbs. 
• Tires: Hoosier R60B 4:50x5", Max rear circumference 33.75" 
• Gear Ratio: 17/57 
• Clutch: Briggs & Stratton part # 555727 only
• Maximum wheel width: See section 252.2.2.  
• Other: (1)Kid Kart, Cadet and standard size go-karts are legal. See Section 900 for Kid Kart chassis and bodywork specifications. See Section 200 for Cadet Kart Specifications.

 Jr. 1 LO206*

• Age: 7-12 years old* 
• Engine: Stock Briggs & Stratton LO 206 with Green slide and lock cap
• Fuel: 87 Octane
• Minimum Weight: 265 lbs.
• Tires: Hoosier R60B 10x4.5-5 front and rear.
• Maximum wheel width: See section 252.2.2.  

Jr. 2 LO206*

• Age: 12-15 years old*
• Engine: Stock Briggs & Stratton LO206 with Yellow slide and lock cap
• Fuel: 87 Octane 
• Minimum Weight: 320 lbs. 
• Tires: Hoosier R60B 10x4.50-5 front, 11x6.00-5 rear
• Maximum wheel width: See section 252.2.2. 

Sr. LO206

• Age: 15 years old and older 
• Engine: Stock Briggs & Stratton LO 206
• Fuel: 87 Octane 
• Minimum Weight: 375 lbs. 
• Tires: Hoosier R60B 10x4.50-5 front, 11x6.00 or 11x7.10-5 rear. 
• Maximum wheel width: See section 252.2.2.

  • WKA Stock Engine Specification Guidelines Apply (Section 136)
  • Factory Ignition Systems Only (RLV TCI replacement module allowed)
  • Walbro WB3A carb within max 0.950" venturi
  • Limited RLV Pipe (VKA Sr-Y/HPV 1-2-3/ Horstman K1-K2-K3 at 12" minimum length
  • Piston to Start of First Cone
    • HPV 4 Pipe is not approved
    • No Tapered Headers
• Clutch: Horstman DXL, EXPW and Steel Nytro, Hartman, L&T, Burco Oil Clutches, Max Torque (No Modern Clutches)
